He also served as Chief of Staff to his company’s President and CEO, where he developed and delivered strategic communications to all internal and external audiences.
In addition to teaching at the Jones School, he offers regular seminars and workshops on negotiations, sales, and communications to private clients.
Rick has a Ph.D. in English Literature from Rice University.
I have worked with Al Bentz in the past several years to design, develop, and deliver custom Advanced Negotiation training.
One of my clients was a major Industrial Gas supplier, and Al’s extensive experience in the sector helped me tailor the material to the specific challenges faced by the client’s sales and business development personnel.
Al’s expertise in the art of planning and executing successful negotiations was instrumental in creating challenging, “real-world” negotiation scenarios for the role-playing in the training.
In one of the sessions, Al played the part of a customer in a negotiation role play, and I witnessed firsthand his formidable negotiating skills.
Al’s many years of experience in sales and business development, his understanding of customer and supplier business models, his strong work ethic, and his expertise in all elements of negotiation made him an ideal partner in my customer engagements.
